Well, her daughter came home one afternoon<\/em>

And she said, \u201cmom, I got a note here from the Harper Valley PTA\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Well, the note said, \u201cMrs. Johnson<\/em>
You\u2019re wearin\u2019 your dresses way too high<\/em>

And a-running round with men and goin\u2019 wild<\/em>

And it was signed by the Secretary<\/em>
Harper Valley PTA<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Well, it happened that the PTA was gonna meet<\/em>
That very afternoon<\/em>
And they were sure surprised<\/em>
When Mrs. Johnson wore her miniskirt into the room<\/em>
And as she walked up to the blackboard<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n


I can still recall the words she had to say<\/em>
She said, \u201cI\u2019d like to address this meeting of the Harper Valley PTA<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Well, there\u2019s Bobby Taylor sittin\u2019 there<\/em>
And seven times he\u2019s asked me for a date<\/em>
And Mrs. Taylor sure seems to use a lotta ice<\/em>
Whenever he\u2019s away<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n


And Mr. Baker can you tell us why<\/em>
Your secretary had to leave this town?<\/em>
And shouldn\u2019t widow Jones be told to keep<\/em>
Her window shades all pulled completely down<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n


Well, Mr. Harper couldn\u2019t be here<\/em>
\u2018Cause he stayed too long at Kelly\u2019s Bar again<\/em>
And if you smell Shirley Thompson\u2019s breath<\/em>
You\u2019ll find she\u2019s had a little nip of gin<\/em>
And then you have the nerve to tell me<\/em>
